Artist Randall Street is a printmaker artist and photographer who grew up in Colorado in the 60's and 70's. He became interested in art and music as a small child. In his early 20's he went through a period of working in oil painting. Because of a interest and practice in calligraphy he became a "signpainter" or "signartist" at a time when hand lettering was still the norm in sign shops. He moved to Indiana in the 80's and worked in signs and graphic arts. Eventually he began to work in computer graphics and digital art. As he became more interested in pursuing art he became very passionate about woodcuts and printmaking as an art medium. Photography increasingly began to play a part because of a need for original material to form ideas from for making his art. His work has been shown in galleries, the main art museum and local coffee shops in the Indiana city where he now resides. Examples are around on various web galleries also. Much of the printmaking art shown here is depicting Indiana and Colorado. Art of Printmaking The type of printmaking done by Randall Street is mostly "woodcut" even though he does not always use wood. Much of the time he uses a type of extruded plastic similar to wood for a lot of carving of blocks which are inked and then printed on an acid free paper. He uses a professional ink for woodcut printing that is waterbased normally. Art for Sale If you have an interest in the art of Randall Street much of it is available either in an original print or as a giclée (print by ink jet onto canvas or paper).
